This week my community spotlight is on Leisuretowne, the active adult community located in Southampton, NJ. Leisuretowne is the largest 55+ community in Burlington County with 2,255 homes in the community, providing it's residences with diverse activity programs, optional day trips, as well as volunteer organization that handles referral services for most resident's needs. Living in Leisuretowne, one can appreciate and enjoy the rural pinelands setting and beautiful lake views the community offers. Shopping is a short commute however if you have concerns with driving and location, the community also provides bus service 3.5 days a week to food stores, banks and the malls. Very few communities offer services to the extent Leisuretowne provides to it's residents.
The community amenities include 2 outdoor swimming pools, tennis courts, and boccie courts. There is also a club house and activity halls, library, gym, cards/bridge room, and billiards room. The community is gated with a guard at the entrance, and also has a community manager on site.
Leisuretowne homes for sale range from $60,000 to $350,000 and both one story town homes and single family homes are usually available. The association fee is also reasonable and runs between $60 and $80 per month which includes lawn maintenance, common area maintenance, and the club house amenities. Real estate taxes range from $1500 to $8000 per year depending on the style, size and property type. Leisuretowne was constructed in multiple stages starting around 1980 through the last few years.
