Gene and his wife Cheryl grew up and attended school together in the San Francisco East Bay area. After several years in the Army (including tours of Vietnam and Germany), they returned to the Bay Area.
Starting in 1980, they had become deeply involved in technology. In 1986 and long before the Internet became known, they owned one of the world's first computer bulletin board systems, and were often assisting friends and local businesses with computer hardware and software problems.

With extensive experience in the on-line world, he recognized that technology was destined to become extremely important to the future of the real estate industry.
On the first day the real estate Internet Professional (e-PRO) course became publicly available, he took and completed it...thus finishing a 6 month course in one intensive day.

These days, you're likely to find him on one of the area's many golf courses in his spare time.
