New Jersey Department of Education
The New Jersey Department of Education provides very detailed information regarding all schools and universities within New Jersey. The schools are categorized within one of four possibilities: Pre-school, Kindergarten – 12th Grade, Colleges and Universities, and Vocational Schools.
A law was passed in 1995 requiring the annual release of the New Jersey School Report Card. There are two options to chose from, one includes the results which conform to the No Student Left Behind Act, the other is the state required profile. Within the state report cards there are 35 fields of information contained within 5 categories: student performance indicators, district finances, students, school enviornment, and staff.
For those with Special Education needs you will want to visit the Office of Special Education Programs. The office implements the state and fedral laws and regulations governing special education programs within New Jersey.
