New Jersey American Water was granted a rate increase by the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities. The announcement was made on March 22, 2007 and the rates are going into effect of March 30th. The overall increase is approximately 12.5% and reflects the increased costs involved with serving over 2 million residents state wide. All customers should receive a full explanation in the mail.
