Update for 2007 New Year’s Eve: First Night 2008
As we move into 2007, Mt. Holly is celebrating it’s eighth annual "First Night". A wide variety of entertainment will be provided including street performers, fireworks, a film festival, music from around the world, and even a tribute to the Chinese horoscope’s "Year of the Pig" by having multiple artistic interpretations of the pig on display.
The Schedule of Events and Locations:
A. BCC Mt Holly Center: New Year’s Eve in Mount Holly kicks off at 4:30 with our fourth annual Pet Parade, starting at Fountain Square and "going for a walk" to Cobbler Square. At 5:00 and 5:45, Hip Hop Dance Troupe Face Da Phlave take over the grand space, before Norm Taylor belts out Acoustic R&B/Blues at 6:30. The electric Rhythm & Blues group East Coast Groove performs at 7:15 and 8:15.
B. Friends Meeting: will be the venue for the Celtic Harp of Mary Kay Mann at 5:00 and 6:00. Next, at 7:30 and 8:30 it’s Native American Folk by Spirit Wing. Later, Kurt Jung and Qin Qian play Chinese Acoustic Music at 10:00 and 11:00. Food and drinks will be for sale at this venue.
C. Cobbler Square: See the Pet Parade Judging at 4:45, before Garrett LaMarra enthralls with Juggling at 5:00 and 5:30. Magician Johnny Cee performs at 6:15 and 6:45. Stop by for the Pigtail Contest at 7:00, and later for the Regrets Shredder. Stilter Jodi Netzer is featured at 7:30 and 8:00. Bagpiper Frank Watson will play Auld Lang Syne and other favorites at 8:45 and 9:15, and Michael Gibbs blows the Didgeridoo at 11:15 and 11:45. And remember, the DEMPSTER’S FIREWORKS go off at 9:30 and Midnight! (Some Cobbler Square events may move indoors in the case of intolerable weather.)
D. Masonic Lodge: Groove to the Jazz of the Bob Pollitt Trio 7:30 and 8:30, and later hear more great Jazz by the Wendy Zoffer Quartet performing at 10:00 and 11:00. Hot dogs, sandwiches and drinks will be for sale at this venue.
E. Good Intent Firehouse: Comedian Jennifer Blaine will tickle your funny bone at 7:30 and 8:30, then it’s more Comedy with Joel Weintraub at 10:00 and 11:00.
F. Brainerd Street Commons: Stop by between 5:00 and 9:00 for a continuous screening of "Babe", then enter their Live Pig Weight-Guessing Contest.
G. Methodist Church: In the Fellowship Hall, Jodi Netzer and Michael Schwartz present a Kids Art Workshop at 5:00, while the Sugar Sand Ramblers play Old Timey music from the NJ Pines at 7:30 and 8:30.
H. Saint Andrew’s: In the front Sanctuary, you can meditate on the Gospel Bluegrass of Past Times at 4:30 and 5:30, the Prince of Peace Gospel Choir at 6:30, and Organist Justin Hartz performs at 7:30 and 8:30.
I. Burlington County Historic Prison Museum: Due to popular demand, the Parks Department Staff once again hosts Tours of this landmark building from 5:00 to 9:00.
J. Mount Holly Library: Stop by starting at 5:00 for Martha Neill’s Fiestaware Exhibit, and Independent Films by Robert Emmons Jr. from 7:30 to 9:00

Are you having a First Night for December 2007
First Night is scheduled for 2007 on the First Night International website in Mt. Holly again. However the website for Mt. Holly has not updated it’s schedule or events as of yet.
